Brian Kemp Muslim quote
Brian Kemp

Kemp might not be racist, but racists sure love him

Hateful, xenophobic rhetoric have become the norm amongst the Right. Trump has been fanning the flames of fear and vitriol since before he was elected. He treats women, especially female reporters, disrespectfully and encourages violence toward the free press. He’s denigrated Jews, Muslims, Hispanics, African Americans, the disabled and members of the LGBTQ community. In the past two weeks, we’ve seen horrific events unfold in the U.S. A Trump supporter mailed bombs to people and

Despite allegations of sexual assault, testaments to immoral behavior and lying and a downright embarrassing show of character at his hearing last week, conservatives continue to line up behind Brett Kavanaugh as their pick for Supreme Court Justice. But this is about more than Kavanaugh. The sanctity and historical nonpartisanship of the Supreme Court is at stake. Sen. Chris Coons, the Delaware Democrat, said Kavanaugh has been involved in some “of the most pitched and

Scapegoat

In the fantasy land that Brian Kemp occupies, undocumented people are not our friends, family and loved ones; they are not small business owners helping to revive rural communities; they aren’t even other humans who deserve compassion, justice and dignity. In Brian Kemp and Donald Trump’s America, undocumented people are a useful scapegoat and the target of hateful policies to build walls, separate children from their parents and lock more people in cages. Immigration and Refugees

Cagle and Kemp vie to continue Trump’s immigration legacy in Ga.

Trump’s immigration policies are so impossibly cruel, journalists are saying that the cruelty itself is meant to scare people out of coming to the United States. Under Trump, United States immigration policy has become increasingly inhumane, breaking up families and sending children and parents to separate detention facilities at growing rates. Nearly 1,500 children who arrived at the borders without an adult are missing probably because their U.S. sponsors are choosing not to keep in

Disastrous candidates Cagle and Kemp head for runoff

After failing to win the majority of the vote in the primary, candidates Casey Cagle and Brian Kemp are headed for a Republican runoff in July that analysts say is “likely to be both an expensive and nasty campaign.” So far, Kemp and Cagle have already been leading nasty, extremist and backwards campaigns. Kemp aired an anti-immigration ad that parrots Trump and spewed his xenophobic, hateful rhetoric on a bus tour across the state. “These people

GOP gov. candidates parrot Trump’s lies about immigration and crime

Trump infamously slithered into the White House by building support for his presidential campaign in part by using xenophobic slurs particularly those against Mexican immigrants. “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists,” he claimed. While we know these statements are simply false, Georgia’s conservative gubernatorial candidates in Georgia haven’t gotten the message. Or, more likely, they just don’t care about the truth. They’re still spewing Trump’s bogus, backwards anti-immigration sentiments, regardless of the story
