A Record Number of LGBTQ Candidates are Running in 2020

A record number of openly LGBTQ candidates ran or are running for office this year, according to the LGBTQ Victory Fund’s Out on the Trail report. At least 1,006 openly LGBTQ people have run for office in 2020, a 41 percent increase since the last midterm election in 2018, when 716 LGBTQ candidates ran. News Blog: Free COVID-19 testing in Atlanta

District 4 Council member Cleta Winslow is hosting a free drive-through COVID-19 testing event Wednesday, Oct. 14. The event is being held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or up until 500 tests are administered) at West End Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 845 Lawton Street SW. Self-administered, shallow-nasal COVID-19 tests will be available to those with or without symptoms.  Limited walk-up testing will be available.
