REPORT: Brian Kemp would be one of America’s worst governors for women

Brian Kemp has promised “to do whatever it takes to have the strongest pro-life, anti-abortion laws in the country.”

In a recent report from NARAL Pro-Choice America, Brian Kemp’s anti-women and anti-abortion record comes to light.

“Brian Kemp has zero compassion for women and our choices, and he would be a disaster for Georgia women and families. It’s clear he would be one of the worst governors in the nation on issues of reproductive freedom,” said NARAL Pro-Choice Georgia Lead Organizer, Ericka Claudio, in a press release.

In their report, NARAL highlights that Kemp has not only promised to pass the most extreme anti-abortion laws in the nation, but that he would also seek to actively have Roe v. Wade overturned.

With Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, the possibility of this happening under a Gov. Brian Kemp is just too real.

He has also made it clear that — not only does he oppose abortion access as a basic part of women’s reproductive healthcare — but also opposes abortion in cases of rape or incest.

The #MeToo movement has highlighted just how pervasive sexual violence is for women, femmes and folks who are assigned female at birth.

But Brian Kemp has already shown he doesn’t take sexual harassment and sexual violence seriously. During his tenure as Secretary of State, he overlooked sexual assault complaints — for a business we was supposed to be regulating — because the business owner was a donor to his campaign.

“Kemp wants voters to think that he’s been a friend to women, but his cruel and out-of-touch record is a direct contradiction to the priorities of Georgians,” said Claudio.
