If you’re frustrated with the many scandals stemming from Trump and conservative Georgia officials every day, then I have good news for you.
Tomorrow, we have an opportunity to hit these conservatives at the only place it really counts -– at the polls. We can start chipping away at their conservative foundation right here in the Georgia Legislature.
The Nov. 7 special elections are today, and there are two Georgia Senate seats and seven Georgia House seats open.
And the good news keeps coming – the breakdown of the candidates in the Ga. House elections prove that the progressive movement is growing.
Every single special election for legislative seats in Georgia has Democrat on the ballot.
Four of the seven seats are currently held by Republicans: HD 4, HD 26, HD 117 and HD 119. In each one of these four seats, this is the first time that a Democratic candidate is on the ballot since the 2012 House map was put into place.
In three of these seats (HD 4, HD, 26, and HD 119), this is the first time that we have had a Democratic candidate on the ballot for the House seat at all since 2004.
Here’s a quick list of the Democrats in each special election for the House seats:
HD 4 – Democrat Peter Pociask
HD 26 – Democrat Steve SmithHD 42 – Democrat Smyrna Councilwoman Teri Anulewicz
HD 60 – Three Democrats: De’Andre S. Pickett, Sparkle Adams and Kim Schofield.
HD 89 – Four Democrats: Bee Nguyen, David Abbot, Monique Keane and Sachin Varghese.
HD 117 – Entertainment attorney and activist Democrat Deborah Gonzalez
HD 119 – Democrat Jonathan Wallace.
This is our chance to pull the rug from under Trump and his conservative cronies. By electing progressive leaders in Georgia who will stand up to extremism and for progressive policies, we can fight back.
