On Tuesday, voters in Georgia House District 80 will decide whether or not to end the conservative supermajority in the Georgia House of Representatives by electing progressive candidate Taylor Bennett.
After a quick call with our team, here’s the bottom line:
Our reports from the field after early voting ended yesterday show ALL of the numbers pointing to a VERY tight race that is likely to be decided by just a handful of votes.
Your donation now will help us reach just a few more voters, which may be the difference Tuesday night.
This race has implications for the entire state.
Ending the conservative supermajority would mean that conservatives in the Georgia House could NO LONGER single-handedly put constitutional amendments on the ballot or override a governor’s veto.
But, here’s the scary part: turnout is expected to be very low because most people we’ve spoken with don’t even know about this election.
That’s why we’ll be working all weekend to talk with as many voters as possible.
We have an historic opportunity to steal a seat from the ultra-conservatives who dominate Georgia politics.
And every single vote will make a difference in this race.
We have talked with thousands of voters over the last couple of weeks to make sure they know where and when to vote. But there are still voters we haven’t reached because our budget doesn’t allow it. Chip in $8 and we’ll add that to our last-minute efforts.
Let’s do this together.
