Gov. Nathan Deal continues to stand up for the Confederate battle flag even as he pushes for a redesign that would eliminate just one of the two symbols of hate currently on the state-sponsored license plate. Gov. Deal’s half measures stand in stark contrast to the tidal wave of change that is happening outside of Georgia.
The same governor who defended this flag as part of Georgia’s heritage during his re-election campaign should now stand up to stop the production of these license plates.
Even as Gov. Deal tries to sweep this issue under the rug, Better Georgia will continue our call to eliminate the Confederate battle flag from government-produced license plates.
