Are Georgia lawmakers listening?
The short answer is “yes.” This is working – because of you.
Both the House and the Senate have signalled that our bus drivers and other school employees should keep health care coverage for their hard work.
But now is when we have to pay the most attention because this is when politicians use their worst tricks to try to fool us.
If the state shifts the burden of paying for health care to local communities, the truth is that many communities simply won’t be able to afford the new cost. And that means bus drivers across the state will lose health care coverage even as our lawmakers thump their chests for protecting them.
Call your lawmakers now and tell them not to shift the cost of school employees’ health care to cities and counties.
