Karen Handel opposes accessible health care

Health care is the single biggest issue in the Congressional District 6 Special Election. According to the AJC’s recent Congressional District 6 Special Election survey, 81 percent of people polled said that health care was a very important issue and 94 percent of people polled said they are very or somewhat concerned about the cost of health care. However, if elected, Handel would rubber stamp Trump’s disastrous and unpopular American Health Care Act. By supporting the

Let’s hold Trump and Handel accountable

One of the first words that Trump brings to mind is “unaccountable.” He has proved time and again that he is not accountable to the American people. Presidents are supposed to relinquish their ties to private profit before being sworn into office so that they are fully focused on their job as president. Trump’s refusal to cut ties to his businesses show that serving the American people is not his first priority. USA Today recently wrote,

NPR called the ad “a sarcastic ad from the Republican-aligned Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) featuring actors in San

Karen Handel’s history of voter suppression

As Secretary of State, Karen Handel put Georgia on the map as a leader for voter suppression tactics. Claims of “voter fraud,” one of the Right Wing’s favorite myths, led to a wave of bad policy pushed by Handel, including the use of inaccurate software to purge voters as well as the implementation of unnecessary voter ID laws. During her gubernatorial campaign (against Nathan Deal) she proudly trotted out these “accomplishments,” which earned her the endorsement

Voter registration deadline extended!

In the midst of so much bad news yesterday there is a small piece of good news: the voter registration deadline for the Congressional District 6 race between Jon Ossoff and Karen Handel has been extended. Thanks to a lawsuit from the NAACP, Asian Americans Advancing Justice and other groups, the deadline to register to vote for the June 20 special election run-off has been extended through May 21. This means that anyone who lives
