Kemp’s voter suppression isn’t working

Kemp and his conservative cronies are using every trick in the book to try to hold on to their power in Georgia. They’ve purged voters from the rolls at alarming rates, thrown out absentee ballots, and turned around a bus of elderly black voters.

A longtime architect of voter suppression, Kemp should not have been allowed to oversee his own election when it’s clear that he’s using power to try to sway the outcome of this election. He and his cronies will stop at nothing to steal this election.

Georgia conservatives are afraid of voters exercising their rights, but their tactics aren’t working. Instead, the conservative attempt at voter suppression is motivating progressive voters to fight even harder.

“They made us even more energized,” said Black Voters Matter’s co-founder Cliff Albright. “Can’t stop, won’t stop.”

Protesters call for Kemp to recuse himself from election oversight after putting 53,000 voters on hold.

Albright is right, early voting turnout is through the roof. So far, early voting turnout is over 200 percent higher than it was for the 2014 midterms. Over 630,000 people have already made it to the polls to cast their vote in this historic election that will be decided by razor thin margins.

Georgia voters are making history and rallying at the polls, no matter what.
