Today, Gov. Nathan Deal cost Georgia taxpayers $700,000 in damages because of his efforts to block an investigation into his 2010 campaign finances.
But where was Gov. Deal?
He refused to take the oath and testify in his own defense or for the State of Georgia.
He refused to put his hand on a Bible and swear to tell the truth.
If there is another side of the story, he’s the one who knows it.
But Gov. Deal didn’t show up.
He fought to keep his campaign finance records secret.
He fought to avoid answering questions in court.
And he fought to avoid a jury’s scrutiny.
When Gov. Deal had a chance to speak the truth, he was afriad to do it.
