It’s not time to give up on the governor’s seat

In less than eighteen months, Georgia will elect a governor.

Gov. Nathan Deal and his conservative cohorts have been a disaster for our state.

Yet, one high-profile elected official is ready to give Gov. Deal a pass.

Atlanta’s mayor said Friday he is ready to concede the governor’s seat.

But it’s not up to him.

It’s up to you.

At Better Georgia, we’re preparing to fight, and today, we’re asking you to join us.

If you agree that Gov. Deal and his conservative super majority legislature should be held accountable for cutting education, balking on health care and generally failing Georgia families in every way imaginable, then stand with Better Georgia and fight back.

Join us today by giving $20.14 for 2014.

We just can’t afford four more years of Nathan Deal. Those who make excuses for him are just plain wrong.

Gov. Nathan Deal and his right wing pals know, as we do, that Georgia is on the verge of progressive victories in 2014. But right now they are banking millions, preparing to buy our elections and stop progressive momentum.

With your help, Better Georgia is building a grassroots army. Just last week, more than 100 Georgians stepped up to join our $20.14 for 2014 Campaign. Today we hope you will join more than 3,450 Georgians who have stepped up to support Better Georgia.

Ask any Georgia family. From failing schools to transportation gridlock, Georgia has BIG problems — problems Gov. Nathan Deal has failed to solve.

On Gov. Nathan Deal’s watch, Georgia’s high school graduation rate has slipped to 47th in the nation.

That’s right. Nearly a third of Georgia students fail to finish high school in four years.

That’s what happens when more than five billion dollars is cut from our local schools.

Class sizes increase. Teachers face furloughs. Schools close. Students fail.

It’s no accident that Georgia is now the 5th poorest state in the nation.

Instead of taking care of our schools, Gov. Deal’s been busy taking care of his friends. No wonder Georgia is ranked as most corrupt state in the nation.

At Better Georgia, we’re preparing now to make sure these issues are front-and-center when Georgians go to the polls next year.

Georgia is home to an emerging progressive majority, but if we want to win in 2014, we must act now. Conservatives are already building their war chests with corporate money while some on our side are waving the white flag.

There is too much at stake. We’re not backing up. How about you?

Join us today to prepare for progressive victories in 2014 and beyond.

Just $20.14 today will make a difference is 2014.
