Nathan Deal is a liar. He did appoint Chip Rogers to GPB.

Gov. Nathan Deal and his office staff spent most of Wednesday telling Georgia reporters that he absolutely did not hire Chip Rogers. Instead, he said Georgia Public Broadcasting made the hire.

“The governor’s office had no response, saying the governor did not hire Rogers.” WSB-TV

Gov. Nathan Deal is a liar.

Less than a month ago, the governor and GPB made the shocking announcement that Gov. Deal had appointed disgraced former Sen. Rogers to GPB and that he would report to President Teya Ryan. They were unsure of the job title and unsure of the programming Chip would manage but they were very sure Gov. Deal appointed Chip Rogers to this honorable position.

Here’s Chip Rogers, in his own words, telling WABE that the governor approached him and made the appointment:

Gov Deal Appoints Rogers to job at GPB

It seems that if the governor now regrets his appointment, he should simply say so and reverse his decision.

Nathan Deal really shouldn’t continue to lie about who has the power in this situation.
